We have published the Zappr web photo management project as the world-wide first open-source online photo community project.
You can help us developing Zappr Open-Source under the Google Code page http://code.google.com/p/zappr/ (you need a Google Account), each person wo have's interest in contribute on this project can write some words to the maintainer Jonathan Naumann.

We have worked the last days on the next milestone. The result is this cool new layout - white and simple. The best for all types of images. No color deflects you from the photos.
Apropos photos and images - you can now give your uploaded pictures a type. Available types are Photo, Screenshot and Simple image.

Today, search engines does'nt have problems with URL's including the question mark and the cryptic string after it. Google searches and stores since a long time the pages and URL's.
But people dont want to have that, people dont want to write a URL like "zappr.de/default.aspx?id=images&user=somewhere", people want to write "zappr.de/images/somewhere/default.aspx". And now, we have FPO URL's. A FPO is a "for-people-optimized" URL.

Hello folks. We are proud to present some new features for our great photo service. Take a look at it:

• The Zappr badge is now finished, so you can now add a badge with the latest pictures on your page
• The page is now multi-lingual, the first languages we support are english and german. The languages get selected by the language setting of you browser and, if you are logged in, through you own language setting
  

One of the next steps are more for the community, we work on a forum for the Zappr community.

Zappr is now two months online and we have some new features.
The first one is the obligatory "favorite image" feature. With this you can mark a image as a favorite image. And your personal profile has a list of all of your favorites.
The second feature is more a base feature and less a photo management feature. The feature gives you the possibility to advise Zappr to a friend.
